The International Center of Energy Efficiency and Climate Change has been established in Moscow (10 August 2010)

The International Center of Energy Efficiency and Climate Change (ICEECC) has been established in Moscow as part of the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the "Kurtchatov Institute", a Russian research center.

The Center has been set up to contribute to the implementation of the energy efficiency policy and the realization of measures to increase energy efficiency in the development of the Russian economy, which is one of the crucial priorities of national development.

The main tasks of ICEECC are obtaining and applying advanced overseas technologies to production in the sphere of energy efficiency, as well as participating in the realization of projects aimed to increase the energy efficiency of the Russian economy and decrease the greenhouse effect.

The Center's activity will also contribute to the increase of energy efficiency in different sectors of the economy due to the transfer of knowledge and technologies, development and realization of demonstration projects.

The Center will also be involved in the study and collection of international experience in the sphere of energy efficiency strategies and programs, it will contribute to joint research with leading international organizations, hold international conferences, symposia and seminars, as well as conduct training and retraining of experts in the above-mentioned spheres.

The ICEECC is headed by General Director Valery Ivanovych Salygin who is also the Director of the International Institute of Energy Policy and Diplomacy of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Vice-President of the International Academy of the Fuel and Energy Complex, Corresponding Member of the Russian Science Academy, Professor.
