I. Import (export, transit) of domestic animals in Russia

Requirements for the import (export, transit) of domestic animals in Russia are determined by the "Rules Governing the execution of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance ("Rosselkhoznadzor") of the public functions of permitting ...", as well as the Letter of explanations on how to import animals.

According to Section 3.25 of the "Rules..." for the importation of domestic animals belonging to individuals (not more than 2 heads) import permission is not required.

At the same time, for the animal import to Russia you will need an International Animal Passport (with all the marks of the vaccination), or, in the absence of it, Animal Health Export Certificate. Export certificates must be issued no earlier than 10 days prior to departure.

Please note that the airline (carrier) set specific requirements to order a pet cage.
For example:
1. If the animal is transported in a bag-cage, the cage should provide the animal the ability to rotate in 360 degrees.
2. Only one dog per cabin is allowed.

These requirements are necessary to clarify directly from the carrier.
